Request to improve admin menu hover behavior for responsive

For the admin menu the responsive layouts (tablet/mobile), the hover behavior is not ideal. Hover is convenient on desktop, but on touch devices it can create a poor experience since users rely on tap/click rather than hover.

Would it be possible to enable hover only on desktop (mouse/trackpad) and switch to click/tap behavior on tablet and mobile (no hover)? If there is already a setting or recommended configuration for this, could you please share the best approach?
